Love Thy Neighbor: A More Personal Approach

by Kenneth Hanna

The Bible tells us to love our neighbor as we would love ourselves. That is good advice no matter what you believe in. But who exactly is your neighbor?

Years ago people lived miles from each but still considered each other as neighbors. They actually made an effort to seek out their neighbors and visit from time to time. Nothing like sitting around the radio or out on the porch just sharing time together. Are those days gone?

We have advanced from the porch to Internet. So who exactly is our neighbor now? You can have neighbors around the world now! Email and other features give us instant access around the world. Do you treat your online contacts like neighbors?

Internet Marketing is an entirely different world from anything else. Some people want to make the sale no matter what the costs, so they step on a few toes along the way, Big Deal! Would you want a neighbor like that?

One of the best ways to become successful in marketing is to establish connections with the people you are working with. Get in touch with your downlines, your uplines to let them know that you are a real person. Sit around on the porch with them a while and get to know them a bit.

It does matter how much persistence, determination, and focus you have in your quest. Those are definitely key factors! But you cannot get to the top of your field alone. Somewhere along the line you have to have people that are willing to support you in whatever opportunity you chose. Do you want to be on top by yourself or do you want to have someone to share your accomplishments with?

Myself, I chose to have someone to share my accomplishments with along the way. And another benefit of treating everyone as your neighbor, even if you don’t make it to the top you might still have some really great connections to last a lifetime. Would you like to have neighbors like that?

In our fast paced world today minutes can make a difference. Take just a few minutes to send a few lines to the new person that joined your downline yesterday. Take a few minutes to answer the guy that asked a question about something that has nothing to do with what you are promoting. Wouldn’t you want to be treated like a neighbor?

So start showing your neighbors that you care. Go the extra distance to make the connection. Take just a few minutes to make someone feel welcome and at home. Wouldn’t the world AND the Internet be a much better place if we just started loving our neighbors as ourselves?
