Distance Yourself From The Negative People

by Ulrika Jensen

The first thing I would say to a fellow venturing woman would be: "Don't be afraid - of either success or failure." Of people judging you - people will always judge you and GOOD for them - I have my life to live - how about you? Just because they are too scared to do something themselves does that give them license to judge you? Absolutely not! Yet they do anyway hoping you fail so that their own existence will be validated.

You must distance yourself from such negative people and surround yourself with positive, forward-thinking successful people. This will charge you up like nothing else!

I tried quite a few affiliate programs and did some really crazy marketing "faux-pas" when I first started out, but then that's how you learn. You learn from your glitches and move forward from there. What's the point of looking back?

And, secondly, don't be so hard on yourself - if you try something once, maybe twice and it doesn't work it's certainly not a reflection of your abilities - you were merely experimenting with various marketing concepts, right?

And, thirdly, perhaps the biggest one of them all: Don't sit around and wait for something to happen or for the perfect time or opportunity - your time and opportunity is now - so make the most of it!

Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. Write down what you did to promote and better your business even if it was just five minutes of advertising that day. Every little bit counts toward the betterness of the whole. Remember that! And this way you can say: Look at me - this is what I did today and feel just great about yourself and your accomplishments. Because every accomplishment, no matter how small it may seem at the time is still that, an accomplishment! So be proud of who you are, what you are working towards and take action NOW!

Be your own best support - give yourself positive affirmations daily, such as: I can do this. I am awesome. People like to listen to what I have to say. etc, you get the point. This will empower you in your thinking and actions toward being and doing what you envision in your dreams. And...it's okay to dream.

Take baby-steps toward your main goal of becoming your own boss. Do it little by little: Rome wasn't built in one day! Persistency pays - I know that from personal experience.

Okay, you know what you want to do so where do you go from here? You write everything down on a piece of paper. You write down what's doable right now or a few days, weeks, months from now in one column and what isn't doable without other resources in the other.

No one said it was going to be easy but it's going to be a heck of a lot of fun! Enjoy the path to your success. Live every day to the fullest.

Apply for a "Self Employment Assistance Program" through Human Resources and Development Canada if you live in Canada. All it takes is time and all they can say is no so you might as well! :) I know there are lots of grants in USA. Just go to your local library or business links office and they will help you find them.

Network with others! You'll find you have common interests that have nothing to do with your business. What you're actually doing is building relationships and those relationships build business opportunities." Make sense?!

Here is an interesting fact for you from http://www.roper.com Currently, there are 700,000 women-led firms across the country, providing employment for 1.7 million Canadians, says the Business Development Bank of Canada. By the year 2000, women will represent one out of every three self- employed people in the country. Isn't that something!

1997 Global Consumer Study done by Roper Search Worldwide, a research firm based in the United States. The study looked at the mindset and buying habits of women in 35 countries, based on 1,000 interviews.

The study concluded consumerism around the world is driven by six different mindsets - strivers, fun seekers, creatives, intimates, altruists and devouts.

The strongest presence of female strivers, those seeking status, power and wealth, are found in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan and Kazakhstan - mostly ‘Asian tiger' economies.

Fun seekers, those looking for excitement and stimulation, are popular in Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan and Germany.

Creative individuals can be found in Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Australia and France.

Intimates, those who care about family and friends, love romance and sex, are found in Europe - Hungary, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Australia.

Altruists, outer-oriented women concerned with society as a whole and environmental causes, are predominant in Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Japan and Turkey.

And devouts - spiritualists - have their highest representation in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, India, Singapore, and South Africa.

This knowledge is a powerful tool for global marketing.

For example, fun seekers "are people looking for passion and stimulation in their lives and are apt to buy vacation packages, or golf holidays.

When we can learn about buying patterns around the world and combine that with women's economic clout, we then can know where to sell certain products

You can do it! Go Get 'Em!!
